You've been invited to a fancy dinner, but you're not quite sure about all the unwritten rules of table etiquette and how to behave. No elbows on the table

Get control of your cutlery

Show respect

Put your cell phone away during the meal. Be present and show interest in your guests. If you need to check it, go to the bathroom.

Shut your mouth

Always remember to close your mouth when eating. It is considered rude to chew or talk with food in your mouth. Eat quietly and take small portions on your fork

To set the table

The forks are on the left, the knives on the right – with the cutting edge facing the plate. The soup spoon is on the far right. The dessert cutlery is on top. The spoon with the handle on the right, the fork on the left and closest to the plate. Cutlery for an intermediate course is placed diagonally in the upper right corner. The cutlery belongs on the plate as soon as it is used.

The bread plate is on the left side – and it is only for bread. A butter knife is placed on the bread plate, but here with the blade facing away from the plate.
